Because it haunts me

It's all about gathering your courage to take that first step

Month: February, 2013

The last day of the month….

All I can say is, “Woo Hoooo!” February was a trial by fire month for me emotionally. But it’s all okay. There were all sorts of things that happened but in some odd way it worked out. There were also ideas and lost lessons that I had to relearn. One such lesson in particular can […]

You know it’s a bad week when….

I’m baking on a Wednesday. Okay, it’s not the most awful week of my life, but this week has had its stresses. So…let me skip the drama part and comment that I have been writing. See, it started with a dream I had. The type where someone was choking me to death and I wake up […]

Wise Words…

“You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it. You don’t let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.” ― Johnny Cash I need to […]

That funky Colorado Weather…

The sun came out and I won’t say it melted all the snow away but it made it a sloppy mess. Sniff. I won’t be making a snowman this time around but there are rumors we’ll see snow again tomorrow. Tonight the weather is clear and there is no sign of such a storm. […]

Baby Blizzard

This storm is a messy thing for getting around but there will be plenty of snow.  I’m not sure if it’s great for making a snowman. Perhaps a snow angel…?

Some days you need the tears

My heart has been broken so many times, it jingles when I walk.- Garrison Keillor as his Guy Noir character. I don’t think life was meant to be lived without the bad days. I don’t think we were meant to truly grow as people unless we shed tears. And I’m not saying living forever in […]

Out and About

Out having some fun tonight. I need to write a real post tomorrow. But in the mean time I hope you guys are out making some fun memories of your own.

Things to do on a cold, wet day…

“Housework is a treadmill from futility to oblivion with stop-offs at tedium and counter productivity.” —  Erma Bombeck Clean. Yes, Mar, I went on a cleaning tear for the last couple of days. There’s still more to do. Plan my next baking project. Organize my baking stuff. I might be going a little overboard with […]

Suppose it had to happen….

The weathermen predicted snow and that it would start at 2PM. They even got the time right. How crazy that a forecast is correct for once? I’m hoping we get enough that I can make a snowman.

Success! I messed up on the heat yesterday. I keep forgetting I have to raise the heat at this altitude. You’d think I’d remember that after ten years. I think it’s a subconscious thing and I want to move back to the east coast.
